Moving From Comfort to Courage
Have you been asked to do something you didn't really want to do? Or had to make a really big decision in your life that would require you to make some major changes? Many of us have. Maybe you had to leave a job that you've been at for years to move onto bigger opportunities at a new job, or possibly even have to completely relocate. Change is inevitable, but it can also be uncomfortable.
I'm the type of person that finds comfort in stability. And any major changes I've made in my life haven't come without some sort of resistance on my part. In fact, there have been times where I've completely gone against what I knew was best just to stay where I was at. Just because I was afraid to step out onto a new platform.
This isn't what we're called to do as Christians. God wants us to put 100% of our faith and trust in Him. Not 10%, 50% or even 99.99999%, but 100%. ALL of it! The Bible says, "For I am the Lord, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you." (Isaiah 41:13) God wants us to trust that whatever is on our plate, He will walk us through it. This is what you call moving from comfort to courage because you're choosing to leave your personal comfort zone onto something new which always take courage. That doesn't mean that it'll be easy or flawless, but it means that we don't have to go through it alone, which is always easier. It's not the easiest concept to grasp in the beginning because most people like to think that they are 100% in control of everything (at least that was me). But the more I grew in the spirit, the more I realized that I have to step out on my faith in Him, completely blindfolded, because that's how strong my faith is. And He's proven over and over again that He's got me, and won't let me fail at life.
