Answer Your Call
Do you remember being a teenager and waiting by the phone to get an important call? Or having a crush on someone and waiting forever for the phone to ring? And then get mad if someone else had to use the phone or if that person never called. Well, what if God had a calling for you? Would you be waiting night and day to answer it? Or would you just hit the ignore button? God wants us to be eager like a lovesick teenager to pick up the phone when He calls. He wants us to get the call and listen to what He has to say. God has plans for us in life and He wants to see us flourish in the fruits of His labor. We’re not meant to just sit there and take up space. He made us with a specific purpose in mind, but we have to be obedient to His word. When you have children, you have hopes and dreams for what they’re to become and you do whatever you have to do to help them reach their goals. This is how God looks at His children. He gives us instructions and tools to reach the marks He has laid out for us. He usually calls when we least expect it, or when our minds and thoughts are consumed with other things. Those are the times He reaches out to us, and we typically don’t answer the call on the first ring or miss the call entirely. But He keeps reaching out to us in hopes that we’ll get it together and pick up to hear what He has to say. We should answer His call with the same anticipation as a young teen. If we only knew the blessings He has in store for us. The Bible says, “Blessed are all who fear the Lord, who walk in obedience to Him.” (Psalm 128:1) If we stop the plans that we have for ourselves and move forward with the plans that God has for us, the reward will be so much richer in the end, but we have to answer the call first.
